The Most Beautiful Beaches Near Begur, Costa Brava

The coastline around Begur on the Costa Brava is famous for its dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear water and beautiful sandy coves. Within just a few minutes of the village you can find some of the most beautiful beaches in Begur, including Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Aiguablava and Tamariu.

Our villas are located between Begur village and Sa Riera beach, making them an ideal base for exploring the coastline while still enjoying the restaurants, shops and atmosphere of the historic town.

Here are some of our favourite beaches near Begur.

Sa Riera

Sa Riera is the largest beach in Begur and one of the most popular with families, it is also the closest to our villas. The wide sandy bay is surrounded by traditional houses, restaurants and small fishing boats, giving it a very relaxed Mediterranean feel.

The beach offers calm water, plenty of space and a number of excellent restaurants right on the waterfront. It is also a great starting point for coastal walks along the Camí de Ronda, the famous coastal path that links many of the Costa Brava’s hidden coves.

Because of its size, atmosphere and easy access, Sa Riera is a favourite with many of our guests.

Sa Tuna

Sa Tuna is one of the most picturesque coves on the Costa Brava. The small beach sits below colourful fishermen’s houses and pine-covered cliffs, creating a setting that feels timeless.

Although the beach itself is smaller than Sa Riera, the atmosphere is fantastic and there are excellent restaurants overlooking the water. It is the kind of place people remember long after their holiday has ended.

Early morning and evening are especially beautiful times to visit, when the light over the bay is softer and the beach is quieter.

Aiguablava

Beautiful Aiguablava Beach

Aiguablava is often considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Brava. The name literally means “blue water,” and once you see the colour of the sea here it is easy to understand why.

The beach has soft sand, shallow water and wonderful views across the bay. It is particularly popular with families and swimmers thanks to the calm conditions and clear water.

Aiguablava is also a lovely place for lunch, with several excellent restaurants nearby where you can sit and look out over the sea.

Tamariu

A short drive from Begur, Tamariu is another beautiful bay with a sandy beach and a charming waterfront lined with restaurants and small cafés.

Tamariu has a slightly more traditional seaside feel and is a wonderful place to spend the day swimming, walking along the promenade or enjoying a relaxed lunch by the sea.

It makes a lovely change of scene if you want to explore a little more of the Costa Brava during your stay.
