A Week in Begur Once GCSEs and A Levels Are Done
Most A-levels and GCSEs have finished by middle of June. And then, for most teenagers, there is a long, strange limbo: school is over, results are weeks away, and the only thing they actually want to do is sleep until lunchtime and not be asked about it.
If you are a parent of a Year 11 or Year 13, you already know this is one of the quietest periods of the year to get away. Schools are still open for younger siblings, the peak summer rush has not started, flights are reasonable, and the beaches are empty.
It is, weirdly, the perfect time to go to Begur.
Why Begur works for a post-exam trip

Begur is a medieval hilltop village on the Costa Brava with cobbled streets, family-run tapas bars, and beaches reached by walking along paths through pine woods.
For teenagers that means independence without the worry. Sa Riera beach is a 20 minute walk through the woods. Begur village is a similar walk in the other direction. They can take themselves off for the afternoon, meet up in the square or down at the beach, and walk back at their own pace.

They also have somewhere to actually hang out: a games room with table tennis and table football, a roof terrace at Villa Begur with sea views, and a wood-fired pizza oven that turns out to be more interesting than going out to dinner. Both villas now have whole-house fibre Wi-Fi, vital for teens!
What this looks like in practice
You land in Girona, drive 40 mins to Begur, drop bags, and you are in the pool within minutes. The next morning nobody is up before eleven. At some point your teenager wanders down, makes their own breakfast, announces they are walking to the beach, and comes back four hours later in a better mood than they have been since Easter.

You eat together on the terrace. You go into the village for dinner one night. The older ones disappear into town for a couple of hours afterwards and reappear when they reappear.

Nobody mentions UCAS or grades.
Late June availability
Both villas sleep up to 13, so this works for one family, two families together, or a teenager bringing a few friends to join your family. We have space at both villas for the last week of June and the first week of July 2026. Once school holidays start in mid-July the diary fills fast and the prices step up.
